Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-14
sailfork is operated by Fenil Sonani as an individual. This page says what personal data the service handles and why.
What I collect
- Account data: your username, email address and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). If you turn on two-factor sign-in, the secret for it is stored encrypted, along with hashed recovery codes. SSH public keys and access token hashes you add are stored too.
- GitHub sign-in: if you sign in with GitHub, I receive your GitHub account ID, username and primary email address. I do not get access to your GitHub repositories.
- Your repositories: the code, commit metadata (including author names and emails that are part of your commits) and repository settings you push or create.
- Logs: IP addresses and user agents of requests, and security events such as sign-ins and password changes, kept to run, secure and debug the service and to limit abuse.
Cookies
sailfork sets one session cookie when you sign in, and a short-lived cookie during GitHub sign-in. They are needed for the service to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics scripts. Repository data may be cached in your browser's local storage on your device to make browsing faster.
Where data lives
Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the us-east-2 (Ohio) region. Email, such as address verification and password reset, is sent through Amazon SES. I do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers. Public repositories are visible to anyone, including the author details in their commits.
Retention and deletion
I keep account data while your account exists. Email fenilsonani00@gmail.com and I will delete your account, repositories and personal data, except what I must keep to follow the law or to investigate abuse. Logs are kept for a limited time. Commits you pushed to someone else's repository stay in that repository.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by email. I will answer within a reasonable time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. See also the Terms of Service.
